Jeffrey S. Batoff

Jeffrey S. Batoff is a partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He is a member of the firm's Litigation Department as well as of the firm's governing body, the Management Committee.

Mr. Batoff has extensive experience in civil litigation law in the real estate, corporate and health care industries. He also handles commercial, personal injury and products liability defense matters in addition to a subspecialty in catastrophic losses.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, and Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, Order of the Coif. Prior to graduation, he was honored with the American Juris Prudence Award, Contracts, and the American Juris Prudence Award, Torts. He joined Obermayer in 1986.

Mr. Batoff has conducted numerous seminars on "How to Take Law Exams," and was previously an adjunct professor for Drexel University, Philadelphia (1986-91). He is author of the Law School Exam Handbook, published in 1985. He is currently Vice Chairman of the City of Philadelphia Planning Commission and has served on the Commission since 1987.

Mr. Batoff is also politically active. He has served as Chairman of the Casey for Auditor General Committee, the political Committee of Auditor General Robert P. Casey, Jr., as well as Chairman of the 1996 and 2000 Auditor General Campaigns. He also served as Co-Finance Chair for the Weinberg for Mayor Campaign as well as Senior Advisor in charge of polling.

Mr. Batoff is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
